Bill Orr
Executive Director, Collaborative for High Performance Schools

William "Bill" Orr joined the staff of the Collaborative for High Performance Schools, an organization he helped found, as executive director earlier this year. He had served as head of the CHPS technical committee for three years and worked for the State of California's Integrated Waste Management Board for almost thirty. His first order of business with CHPS has been to develop and expand the organization's strategic plan as a blueprint for its growth. Forging a path for the growth of green schools in an era of enormous spending cuts in education has only served to challenge him, as he is taking CHPS national and establishing collaborations in several states. His long term goal is that all schools will one day be high performance schools, but meanwhile the focus is on creating tools that will help existing schools renovate for energy savings and procure green products and services.
